Would You Rather?????

I hope you are enjoying our crop so far! What a fun recipe challenge by Kelly yesterday!  If you missed it you can find it HERE.  It might be pretty apparent that I like playing games, from Bingo (find the Scrapbook Bingo Challenge HERE) to card games, to board games I love them all, so for my second challenge I thought we'd adapt another of my favorite games to put a scrappy spin on it!  The game is called Would You Rather. For today's challenge create a layout, card or project using ONE of each from the following seven prompts:
WOULD YOU RATHER:
1) use a sketch on your creative project OR go it on your own with your own design?
2) use card stock as your background OR use a patterned background?
3) use stamps OR stickers on your project?
4) use squares/rectangles OR circles on your project?
5) use your own handwriting OR a typed sentiment or journaling on your project?
6) Used a punched border OR a washi tape border on your project?
7) Use enamel dots OR rhinestones on your project?

Here is my layout:

Here is the list of rathers I chose to use:
1) sketch- I used a Page Maps sketch by Becky Fleck from her PageMaps 2 book
2) cardstock background
3) Stickers- by Jillibean Soup
4) rectangles- patterned paper by Jillibean Soup
5) Typed journaling
6) Punched border
7) enamel dots

HERE ARE THE RULES FOR THE WOULD YOU RATHER CHALLENGE:
1) Feel free to use other items on your project in addition to the prompted items.
2) Link back to your blog post, make sure you mention the list of items you chose to use.
3) all projects must be newly created as of today for this challenge (no back linking)
4) no combining with other SNS challenges (i.e. our regular sketch challenges)
5) You must link back to SNS in your blog entry
6) only one entry per challenge
Here are the prizes up for grabs:

You will get one entry per challenge into our prize draw, a random winner will be drawn on December 22nd.  To be eligible follow all the rules listed above AND make sure and link up your project on the sidebar under the  ONLINE CROP link (not the regular sketches link).  We can't wait for you to join us! Our first ever Online Crop is in full swing!

As we promised a few days ago, we have another great challenge for you today to continue with our first ever Online Crop! If you missed our first challenge by Lisa, please click HERE to take you to play a great game of Bingo. Today's crop challenge is based on one of the oldest holiday baking traditions, fruit cake! Whether you have a love or hate relationship with fruitcake, we are sure to help you love it a little more with your crafting! Please create a brand new layout, card or altered item based on the Holiday Fruitcake Recipe Challenge below.

Holiday Fruitcake Recipe Challenge
(Pick 4 ingredients for your layout):

Red and green candied cherries – choose the color red or green
Candied pineapple – choose the color yellow or gold
Walnuts – use wood veneers or woodgrain papers, etc.
Raisins – use something sweet (the word Sweet, food related items or photos, etc.)
Sugar – use sprinkles of round embellishments in any color (brads, buttons, confetti, etc)
Eggs – use some form of ribbon as a binding agent
Vanilla – use any type of liquid medium (can be ice or snow related photos, spritz, paints, etc)
Flour - Use any white embellishment (clouds, flowers, doilies, snowflakes, etc.)

And here is my example:

I went simple and still used 5 of the ingredients! I used red cherries (color red), candied pineapple (color yellow), walnuts (wood venners), sugar (round confetti), and eggs (ribbon trim).  I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Rules of the Holiday Fruitcake Recipe Challenge:

1) Feel free to use other items on your layout as well. For instance, if you choose green as a color choice, other colors are welcome but please be sure to showcase the green as much as possible.
2) Also, in your link back to your blog post, make sure you mention the 4 ingredients you chose to use.

3) all projects must be newly created as of today for this challenge (no back linking)
4) no combining with other SNS challenges (i.e. our regular sketch challenges)

Welcome to our new Card Designers!

I know you were all inspired by our wonderful card examples yesterday.  Today we would like to welcome our new card design team for the first term of 2014!  These designers will be inspiring us all from January until June of 2013.  Please welcome:
Hello, I am Isbaha, a 35 year old stay-at-home mother to three little kids.  I discovered papercrating five years ago: how exciting even grown-ups can play with papers!  I love everything with paper and crafts, especially embellishments.  I'm thrilled to be on this creative team: sketches can be a wonderful jump start for creativity!  For more of Isbaha's work make sure and stop by her BLOG

Hi, my name is Ro, and I'm a craftaholic!  I have been crafting for as many years as I can remember.  I don't think I've ever met a craft (or crafter) I didn't  like.  But my favorite, by far, is working with paper!  And I am SO happy to be a part of Sketch N Scrap!  I am sort of an empty nester in that all three of my kids have all moved out (two of them bought houses in my neighborhood, which is awesome!). But this past May, my handicapped mom moved in.  We also have six dogs.  So I guess empty-nester doesn't really apply after all.  My hubby of 26 years and I enjoy traveling, camping, golfing, and hanging with the grandkids. But I am the most centered when I am crafting.  In addition to paper crafting, I also create jewelry and home dec projects, and I do a little sewing and crocheting. I am also learning to paint with watercolor. And I'm hoping to find some time to get back to scrapbooking all the wonderful photos of my grandkids.  I look forward to sharing all my projects with you at SNS and hope I can inspire others to create along with me!  For more of Ro's work check out her blog: Toodle Noodle Creative!

And welcome back returning members:

Make sure and visit these ladies' blogs for TONS of inspiration and to leave them a little bit of love! Tune in tomorrow when we announce some fun upcoming challenges at Sketch N Scrap!  We hope to continue to inspire you throughout the holidays and into the new year!

December Card Guest Designer

Today I have our December Card Guest Designer Sandi:
My name is Sandi Pressley and I have been paper crafting for about 6 years or so.  I create weekly pocket page spreads documenting our life, traditional 12x12 pages, altered and off the page projects like banners and cards...lots and lots of cards. I am the mother of two grown sons and Jake, Cole, Abby and Isabelle Grace call me Grandma.....it is the greatest role I have ever had.  Unfortunately they live in the midwest and I live 1000 miles away in coastal Florida.  Scrapping their accomplishments and fun times helps me not miss them quite so much.  My husband Dave and I work together and are with each other 24/7 and I can truly say he is my best friend and totally supports my addiction....eh hobby of playing with paper.  I am thrilled to be a guest designer here at Sketch N Scrap.  I love the sketches and play along every chance I get.

Check out this beautiful card that Sandi did for us. I love the rocking horse and that layered sentiment is wonderful!
Thanks so much Sandi!
